“Strong Together? Zittau and the Union of Six Cities” – exhibition opening in Zittau
The exhibition “Strong Together? Zittau and the Union of Six Cities” takes a closer look at the history of Zittau and its medieval associations, focusing on topics such as politics and the economy, culture and art, communication and trade, conquest and defence as well as law and order. The intriguing and changing history is illustrated by archaeological findings from Zittau’s market square, as well as historical views of the city and objects showing evidence of past military conflicts. Due to epidemic restrictions, the opening of the exhibition on Wednesday, 21 July 2021 could only be attended by a limited number of people. Nevertheless from July 22, 2021, an exhibition dedicated to the 675th anniversary of the Upper Lusatian Association of Six Cities can be seen at the Museum of Cultural History (Franciscan monastery). Admission to the exhibition is free.
