Preparation of ArchaeoMontan follow-up project progressing well
While the new cross-border cooperation programme between Saxony and the Czech Republic 2014-2020 still awaits its official approbation from the European Commission, the preparation of the follow-up project for ArchaeoMontan are progressing well. On 13 April 2015, representatives of the Saxon State Office for Archeology, the City of Dipoldiswalde and the City of Krupka met in the latter to study the planning documents for an investment in the Czech town. By 2018, Krupka is expected to have an information centre on medieval mining in the Ore Mountains which will also serve as tourism information for nearby sites of the “Mining Cultural Landscape Ore Mountains” (application of recognition as UNESCO world heritage in process).
