2nd cross-border workshop on civil protection

On 26 March 2025, fire brigade teams from Poland and Saxony met for the second time as part of a cross-border specialist workshop for civil protection managers on the premises of the district administration office in Lubań. The meeting was attended by Zbigniew Zjawin, District Administrator of the District of Lubań, Albrecht Gubsch, Mayor of the City of Löbau, and representatives of the volunteer fire brigades of the district of Löbau and the Polish volunteer fire brigade, among others. The topic of the event was the KWISA flood warning system. In the first block, two presentations were given on the warning system and the expansion plans. In the second part of the event, the participants discussed how cross-border bilateral aid can best utilise the information provided by the system in the event of a disaster.
